9-8-8: Suicide Crisis Helpline

The Suicide Crisis Helpline provides a safe space to talk, 24 hours a day, every day of the year.

When you reach a 9-8-8 responder, they will listen with compassion and without judgement, and give you space to talk.  They will engage with empathy. Whatever you are going through, they want to understand.  They will support you. 9-8-8 responders can help you explore ways to create safety when things are overwhelming.

Centre de prévention du suicide de Québec (CPSQ)

Professional, specialized services in suicide prevention and intervention. Support and assistance programs to suicidal persons, those close to them, suicide-bereaved persons, community practitioners, and anyone concerned about the issue, including the general public as well as institutions and businesses in the Québec City area.

Suicide Prevention Centre of Montreal

The Suicide Prevention Centre of Montreal offers a range of services for people in distress or suicidal, their loved ones or those who have experienced the suicide of a loved one.

How to talk about suicide by the Association québécoise de prévention du suicide (AQPS)

This website has information if you are having suicidal thoughts including ways of helping you talk through your suicidal thoughts; and a section with information if you are worried about someone you know.

Canadian Association for Suicide Prevention (CASP)

Help and information if you are having thoughts of suicide or you’re concerned about someone. Their website also shares information how to support a suicide attempt survivor, how you can support those living with suicide loss, about suicide grief in children and adolescents, as well as life promotion.

The LifeLine Canada Foundation

Do you or someone you care about struggle with thoughts of suicide or other mental health issues? This website is a one-stop portal with much information and resources on support, guidance, intervention, education, interrupting the pattern of suicide ideation, as well as guides and tools compiled from various credible sources.

Provides suicide prevention information, tools and crisis resources to support and guide people when they are experiencing thoughts of suicide. One of this app’s key features is the ability to create a personalized suicide safety plan, which can be done in consultation with a healthcare professional, a loved one, or another person in a trusting relationship.

This national free suicide prevention and awareness app offers access and guidance to support for those suffering in crisis, as well as those suffering the loss of a loved one from suicide.
