Work plateaus are supportive environments designed to encourage not only involvement in productive activities but also meaningful engagement. They allow participants to contribute to their community, fostering a sense of purpose while developing valuable skills.
Clothing Bank
A work-like learning opportunity for teens and young adults with functional limitations. The goal is to teach our participants new skills while giving back to their community. They are active throughout the whole process: learning to do laundry, sorting and folding clothes. The participants prepare customized clothing packages to help individuals and families in need.
Lending Library
A work plateau where S.N.A.C.S. participants manage library operations, including wrapping books, tracking materials, and maintaining the collection. It serves the English-speaking community by lending books for children with special needs, textbooks for professionals, and sensory toys and equipment to families.
Print Shop
A work plateau similar to the Clothing Bank developed for our teens and young adults with functional limitations. Participants learn the steps required to use a Cricut to print images or words on various materials. These customized items are then available for sale. The goal for participants is to produce a range of items in collaboration with the English-speaking community while also fostering creativity, life skills, computer skills and the importance of giving back.
