Prenatal Information Meetings

When

Usually held three times a year (winter, summer and fall)
over the course of four weekday evenings.

 

Where

Either in person or online.  The decision is made one month before the classes start.

Learn all about pregnancy and parenthood

Offered by the prenatal professionals of Jeffery Hale Community Services, these Prenatal Information Meetings in English are designed to prepare parents for a positive pregnancy, birth experience and the early days of their child’s life.

During these group meetings of just over two hours each, you will find answers to questions that you may have during your pregnancy. This is also a great opportunity to meet other couples and share your experiences as future parents.

Who are these meetings for?

The expectant mother and her partner (or the person who will be with her at birth) who speak English.

Main themes 

  • Labour and delivery
    • Physiology, normality, positions
    • Managing labour pain, accompaniment (how to support during birth), interventions (actions to assist in delivery), and caesarean section
  • Becoming parents
    • Baby care, returning home and adapting to parenthood
  • Feeding your baby
    • Breastfeeding, milk production (when your milk comes in)
