Celebrate National Seniors Day with Us! 🎉
National Seniors Day is celebrated across Canada on Wednesday, October 1st, and we’re marking the occasion with something special for our community!
In partnership with QCRC’s Lifelong Learning Program, we invite you to a morning “Senior Pathfinder” training—a unique session designed for individuals who are regularly involved in the lives of seniors. As a Pathfinder, your role is not to provide care, but to be attentive: you’ll learn how to recognize signs that may indicate a senior is experiencing accelerated aging and know when to raise the alarm.
During this interactive 2.5-hour session, you will:
- Explore the role (and limits) of a Pathfinder supporting a senior
- Learn about the aging trajectory
- Understand the difference between normal and accelerated aging
- Recognize risk factors and warning signs to prioritize seniors’ safety at home
- Discover the AINÉES AD-PLUS acronym, a practical detection tool
- Get to know local resources and services to support seniors when needed
The training lasts about 2.5 hours, and to top it off, everyone is invited to enjoy a free lunch together afterwards 🥗🍲.
Come learn, connect, and celebrate National Seniors Day with us!
