Thinking about moving out of your parents’ house, living on your own, or sharing an appartment with friends? Feeling daunted about it? Don’t worry – join us for a free workshop (given in English) by Éducaloi on June 12th at 6:30 p.m.  This session will give you the tools and knowledge you need to make informed decisions and take the next step with confidence.  Know your rights, say goodbye to stress, and hello to independence!

An Éducaloi volunteer legal professional will present Éducaloi’s Tenants and Landlords: What Would You Do? workshop.  This is an introduction to the different rights and responsibilities of tenants and landlords in Quebec.  This introductory workshop covers some common situations between tenants and landlords, and helps participants understand them. This workshop is recommended for people with little to intermediate level knowledge on these topics.

Topics covered during the workshop include:

  • Deposits
  • Rent increases
  • Moving out early

There will be opportunities to ask any questions you may have during the workshop.

At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  • better understand what the law says about some common issues that come up between tenants and landlords,
  • consider the pros and cons of different solutions to these common issues, and
  • identify reliable resources for getting more help.

The Wellness Centre at Jeffery Hale will provide free refreshments for participants.

Please register to let us know you will be attending.
