Preparing and Planning

Welcome November! I hope you were able to enjoy the beautiful palette of colours and sunshine that October gifted us.

This month, I would like to focus on planning and prepardeness. There are things in life that we are not able to control and, often times, we only realize this when emergencies arise. The importance of being prepared in advance, at any age, allows us to rest a little easier knowing that there is a plan in place for unforseen circumstances. Planning is a gift we give ourselves now, and not only for yourself but also your loved ones.

We are proud to partner with Éducaloi to offer an online workshop on November 30th called «Tools for Planning Ahead.» This workshop will cover the basics of power of attorney, protection mandate, advance medical directives and wills. A must for everyone, so please register to attend.

Lest we forget

November is also a time for giving very special mention to our veterans, past and present.  To all those who have a direct connection to a veteran or to someone who is currently active in the military, this November 11th, I invite you to show your support by wearing the poppy and pause to honour them.  «Veterans want Canadians to understand the price of freedom. They are passing the torch to the people of Canada, so the memory of their sacrifices will continue, and the values they fought for will live on in all of us.»

In closing, I would like to share a very important resource on what to do if you are concerned about your own health or that of a loved one. I also encourage you to learn more about the Minor Emergency Clinic at the Jeffery Hale.
