What You Need to Know About Hearing Loss – Community Outreach Session

Date: Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at 10 AM

Location: Room 1135 on the main floor of the Jeffery Hale pavilion (1270 ch. Ste-Foy)

Nearly one in four adult Canadians report some hearing loss. In older adults, hearing loss often happens gradually over time. This loss can easily go undetected. It may interfere with communication and often leaves seniors feeling quite isolated and misunderstood. It can become a common source of frustration for caregivers. However, support is available. Join us for a joint information session with a hearing care specialist and the Association des personnes avec une déficience de l’audition to learn more about:

  • Signs and causes of hearing loss
  • The impact of hearing loss
  • Aids and other tools to help improve hearing and communication skills
  • Resources for those with hearing impairment and support services for their caregivers

This activity is free and so is parking in the hospital parking lot. Please contact Jan Anderson, Community Organizer 418 684-5333, Ext 1539 or janderson@jhpartners.net  to register for this event. Be sure to indicate if you wish to sign up for free hearing test.
