Look for the Certifié famille logo to find businesses that support families with young children

Certifié famille is a local project that identifies family-friendly businesses. The program which began in Bas-ville in 2016 continues to gain momentum across Quebec City. This service has recently expanded to Upper Town. The criteria for certification simply means that these enterprises support families in the neighborhoods by opening their doors and providing welcoming space whether or not you purchase something on their premises. Businesses displaying the certifié famille logo are making a statement that they allow families with young children access to services free-of-charge whether or not you purchase something on their premises. The four main services include:

  • Family access to bathrooms,
  • A respectful space where babies can be breast of bottle-fed,
  • Highchairs and/or booster seats in restaurants
  • Help getting kids and strollers in and out of their business.
