Welcome 2022!! I am sending each and every one of you wishes of health, unity, and love.
I think it’s safe to say that the new year started out as the previous year. It’s been difficult at times to see the light at the end of the tunnel. We have all had our lives changed forever and have had to adapt to a new way of being and living. I am here to say bravo for your resilience, courage, and strength. You made it! You are here despite the challenges you have faced. I believe it is important to focus on the good that exists in our lives, and what better time to do this than the traditional holiday of Valentine’s Day? You’re never too old to send a Valentine’s Day card or send a heart shaped chocolate to someone you love or even to treat yourself.
Love is the most powerful emotion we experience. Within each of us lies a loving and peaceful heart.
“Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage.” -Lao Tzu
This month, I have asked my friend and writer/educator Jeanni Potter to contribute to the Well 50+ Newsletter. I have also invited her to present a couple of workshops for us in March, where she will discuss Self-Compassion and managing emotions.
February brings two virtual Art Therapy sessions with Sophie Lessard-Latendresse, the theme is Compassion and Kindness. Make sure to register as soon as possible as spaces are limited. Register for February 16 or February 23
On February 28th our friend Susa Bernard will be hosting a virtual Yoga session. Head over to https://wejh.ca/event/yoga-caregivers-circle/ for details and registration link.
I would also like to take this opportunity to welcome a new member to the Jeffrey Hale Community Partners family. Anaïs Fortin-Maltais will join us as of February 14th as our new Caregivers Program Coordinator. I look forward to working closely with Anaïs.
The next edition of the Newsletter will be in April. Until then, please take care of each other and yourself.
Blessings,
Claire
