Hi everyone! I would like to start by wishing you, our beloved volunteers, a happy summer! This past April, we celebrated YOU through our two online Volunteer Appreciation events under the theme of Together WE Grow! Matt Mardini spread the love with his soulful voice, while William and Cassandra, our Community Life Animators at Saint Brigid’s Home, hosted a lively Bingo on Zoom.
Thank you to everyone who participated, and thank you once again everyone, for your outstanding efforts over the past year. We do truly wish to see you in person again next year!
In the meantime, don’t forget to plant your card to grow wildflowers to enjoy all summer. Simply cover your card in 1/8-inch layer of soil in a pot. Keep the soil moist for the first 10 days, then once spouts start, water more sparsely. Enjoy!
Coming together as a community
Once again, we took the time this spring to highlight all of Jeffery Hale Community Partners’ efforts in our Annual Impact Report, which will be available as of June 29th on the Who we are page on jhpartners.net. It is humbling for me to see in such clear terms the impact your support as a volunteer has on our community in so many areas, from Christmas Hampers, to Wellness Activities at Saint Brigid’s Home, to our Temporary COVID-19 Response Efforts, to name just a few. Bravo to you for your involvement!
Indeed, across our English-speaking community, informal and formal volunteering takes place naturally and through various organizations. I’d like to take this opportunity to recognize the efforts of everyone who is putting their best foot forward, and do what they can to be there for our most vulnerable members of our community.
Spread the word!
Please remember, your well-being and safety are fundamental to the Wellness Centre at Jeffery Hale and we understand that taking care of yourselves and family is more important than ever. If you would keep contributing to our volunteer efforts, great! We are always thrilled to have you join in. If, however, it’s just not quite the right for you now, there are always other ways you can help our community.
An easy way to support our programs all year long is to simply spread the word. Tell your friends and family about your positive experiences as a volunteer with us and encourage them to visit our WE Volunteer page for more information. They can even apply directly based on their interests. As a result, we can continue to grow our support for programs, which in the end supports health and social services for the English-speaking community of the Greater Québec City region.
I’d love to hear from you!
As more volunteer opportunities continue to open up, it’s been such a pleasure for me to be in contact with you, either as a returning volunteer or as a new volunteer who is ready to generously give your precious time and support to our programs.
On that note, do you know someone who might want to join our “Community of Care”? Do you have any ideas you’d like to share? Please send me an email, written in English or French, at email@example.com or give me a call at 418-684-5333 ext. 11948.
Stay well and enjoy the warm weather.
Bye for now,
