Make the most of the end of the summer

August is a lovely summer month. It is often warm but not always as hot as July. Plus, there are fewer bugs which is a wonderful perk when spending time outdoors. Have you taken a moment to prioritize what you would like to do to enjoy some quality time with your family before the fall arrives on our doorstep?

What’s on your end-of-summer bucket list?

These are the outdoor activities on my list that I would like to do, or do more often in August:

  • Picnics.
  • Family bike rides.
  • Evening family walks.
  • Playing outside with the kids after supper.
  • Evening outdoor concerts, so many free options!
  • Harvesting fruits and vegetables from our garden.
  • Outdoor potlucks with other families.
  • Swimming outside whether at the beach or in an outdoor pool.

August is also a great month to take things at a slower pace and give yourself and your children some much-deserved rest. I don’t know about you, but I need it during these summer months. Why not let your children take a break from a fixed a schedule and tight routines? Lazy mornings or later bedtimes are all okay! 😊

I wishing you a restful and laid-back August and look forward to seeing you this fall!

Jessica
