A word from Young Granny Stitches…
I’m always knitting. While I’m watching movies, in the car (not while I’m driving, that would be crazy!), while I’m exercising, or when I’m hanging out with friends. It’s become so natural, like breathing. I enjoy creating things, particularly for others, and I hope that every item I make will find a good home where it will be well-used and well-loved.
My family has come to call me “granny” whenever I pull out my needles. “Oh, there’s granny in the corner, making another sweater!”, or “Hey, granny, when will I be getting a pair of socks?” Turns out, I’m not the only one in the family who had the knitting bug. My great-grandmother would often make beautiful socks and mitts for family members and friends for the holidays. Ever since I discovered this commonality, I’ve felt more connected to her with every stitch. One day, I hope to be just as good as her, and use our shared talent to bring joy and warmth to others.
