When no parent is left behind, innovation, creativity, cooperation, goodwill and talent will bloom!
Parents who participate in the activities of our Family Matters program come to us from all over the globe. This delightful collage brings together people from a variety of cultural backgrounds, ages, genders, language groups and life experiences. A great mixture of voices and opinions lends itself to some interesting discussions, workshops and volunteer-led activities. We strive to ensure that every parent who enters our virtual doors feels welcomed, embraced and a part of a greater whole.
At first, many of our programs were geared at moms and moms-to-be in response to their requests for services and programs to help reduce their feelings of loneliness due to language barriers. After a while, these moms began volunteering to organize fun occasions to get together with other local English-speaking parents and their children. Some dads joined in too and our EPIQ activities have become the glue that holds us all together!
Speaking of dads, we are holding our first ever Focus Group for Guys Raising Kids in Quebec City on November 10 at 7:00 pm. For more information or to register, please follow the link above.
This month, we are creating an event for step parents thanks to EPIQ volunteers Jayanna Pleau and Michelle Lupien. This virtual evening will allow step parents a safe place to connect and discuss issues of importance to them. To learn more, click here: EPIQ Step Parents Virtual Get Together
Our community Wellness Centre is also hosting a virtual information event for English-speaking parents raising kids with special needs in the Greater Quebec City region in November . To learn more please click here: WE Belong Parent Info night https://wejh.ca/event/we-belong-parents-info-night/
If you are a parent who feels left behind by our current programming, please reach out and tell us why. Share your insights so we can work with you to adapt our services to better suit your parenting needs in the days ahead.
No parent left behind is our motto!
