Bilingualism and early childhood

In this session,  our guest speaker, a speech and language pathologist from the  Centre Mosaïque de Québec will talk about bilingualism, myths about learning multiple languages and supporting the communication needs of children from 0-5 growing up in a multicultural context.

Topics covered:

  • How bilingualism and multilingualism impact language development
  • What is expected in bilingual language development
  • Why it is important to support the home language in a minority-language context

And how to :

  • Recognize potential challenges and support bilingualism for children living with difficulties
  • Prepare children for school entry in a language other than what’s spoken at home

Take-A-Break at the Wellness Centre!

A great chance to meet and chat with other English-speaking parents of preschool-aged children.

  • Hear guest speakers on topics of interest to parents.
  • Talk about being a parent and get support.
  • Exchange ideas and share information.
